Merz Trio

The Trio have made a sweep of recent US chamber awards, taking top prizes at the 2021 Naumburg, 2019 Concert Artists Guild, 2019 Fischoff, and 2018 Chesapeake Competitions.

Bach Project
featuring
Reginald Mobley, countertenor
Internationally-acclaimed countertenor Reginald Mobley joins the Bach Project chamber ensemble in a program including the Cantata "Wiederstehe doch der Sünde" (BWV 54) for solo alto and orchestra, the Sonata in E major for violin and harpsichord (BWV 1016), and a Partita of variations for organ, "Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig" (BWV 768).

Hub New Music
For this concert, AHCM and Hub New Music partner to commission a piece by composer and multi-instrumentalist Tyshawn Sorey, Sorey, who has moved into the front ranks of American composers, composes music influenced by both classical modernism and avant-garde jazz.

Bach Project
St. John Passion
In the St John Passion, Bach sets the Passion of Christ to music as the story is told in the Gospel of John. The piece was first performed in Leipzig in1724. Andrew Sheranian, Organist and Master of Choristers at All Saints Church, Ashmont is the Artistic Director of the Bach Project.

Soundscapes of India
This concert showcses the timeless chronicles of North Indian Classical music, cultivated and passed down through the millennia. Through a complex web of Raga and rhythm, Soundscapes of India exemplifies that rich heritage and features a selection of some of the most well-known Ragas and folk songs of the Indian Classical repertoire.
